(Atlanta) AEG Live is bringing to great shows to the beautiful Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in June. Foster the People on June 7 and Bon Iver on June 8. Foster the People is an American indie pop band formed in Los Angeles, California in 2009. The group is composed of Mark Foster (vocals, keyboards, piano, synthesizers, guitar, programming, percussion), Cubbie Fink (bass and backing vocals), and Mark Pontius (drums, extra percussion). The group’s music, described as melodic dance-infused pop and rock, spans many genres. Bon Iver is a folk band founded in 2007 by American indie folk singer-songwriter Justin Vernon. It includes Michael Noyce, Sean Carey, and Matthew McCaughan. Vernon released Bon Iver’s debut album, For Emma, Forever Ago independently in July 2007. The majority of that album was recorded while Vernon spent three months in a remote cabin in northwestern Wisconsin. Bon Iver won the 2012 Grammy Award for Best New Artist and Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album for their self-titled album. The name Bon Iver is derived from the French phrase bon hiver, meaning “good winter” or “have a good winter”. Get Bon Iver tickets here and Foster the people tickets here.
